GEOSYNTHETIC MATERIALS AND SOIL REINFORCEMENT SYSTEMS

Geosynthetic materials for infrastructure projects, soil reinforcement and slope protection

Introduction

Modern geosynthetics are a key tool in the design and construction of infrastructure, geotechnical, hydraulic and environmental protection projects. They are used for soil reinforcement, slope protection, drainage, erosion control, embankment stabilization and rockfall containment.

Their applications include highways, railways, port projects, dams, retaining walls, slope restoration, drainage projects and coastal protection projects.

Gabions

Description

Gabions are made of high-strength hexagonal double-weave wire mesh, hot-dip galvanized or with an additional PVC coating. They are filled with natural stones and create flexible, permeable and monolithic structures with a long service life.
